·         Allow plenty of time to get to your destination. You won’t feel rushed and speeding could cause an accident and/or getting a traffic ticket.

·         Be sure to pack an emergency kit with a blanket, flashlight (batteries), jumper cables, water, hats and gloves and non-perishable food items in case you encounter bad weather or vehicle problems.

·         When you are driving, don’t text and drive. Have a passenger do the communicating if necessary. If possible, use a hands free headset.

·         Don’t post on Social Media sites like Facebook that you are out of town. Wait to share holiday pictures and details once you return home, otherwise your home may become a target while you are out of town.
