Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to locate two males wanted for felony theft and trespassing.
On Saturday, May 21st, 2016, about 8:47pm, an unknown white four door sedan entered the Wal-Mart parking lot in Rib Mountain and two black males, suspected to be Arthur Battis and Vashion Manning exited the vehicle and proceed into the store and go to the service desk. One of the males, Battis, pulls a stack of money out of his pocket and lays some on the counter requesting change for the bills. The subject repeats this action multiple times, appearing to confuse the cashier, causing her to recount her monies numerous times. This occurred for approximately 8 minutes resulting in a $1400 loss. The male in the plaid shirt just stands there the entire time. The two black males exit the store a short time later.
On Saturday, May 21st, 2016, about 9:17pm, it appears the same two black males went to the Cenex station near Edgar and scammed a cashier out of about $117.
On Saturday June 11, 2016 the two suspects returned to Wal-Mart and scammed another cashier out of $260.
One of the suspects, Battis, had been taken into custody in Lacrosse WI recently for doing the same thing there but was released soon after. Battis has a history of doing this at other Wal-Marts in Florida, New Hampshire, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Arthur Battis
Sometime in the evening of June 1st, 2016 and the morning of June 2nd, 2016, someone entered a shed in the 1500 block of Four Mile Road in the Town of Marathon and stole approximately 300 pounds of scrap copper. The victim had copper bars, motor windings, and electrical wire which they burned off the insulation burnt off. The copper bars were five to six inches long and weighed about two pounds each. Some of the wire was from lightning rods.

On, June 1st, 2016, an unidentified white male returned four video games to the Wausau Wal-Mart. After the games were put back on the shelf for resale, one was returned and found to be a counterfeit disc with no information written to the disc.
As Wal-Mart conducted an internal investigation, it was found this man along with an unidentified white female have conducted the same scam at various Wal-Mart’s throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. It has also been learned the couple have been in Kansas and Iowa. These fraudulent returns have cost Wal-Mart over $10,000 in losses in less than a three week period.
The male with the red hat was involved in this fraud in Medford and Merrill, WI. The other male and female were involved in the frauds in 18 different Wisconsin cities to include Wausau.

On May 28h, 2016, about 2:58am, a Midway Auto Plow truck was found on fire by a deputy driving by the business. The truck had not been operated since April 2016. On January 13, 2013 at 5:41am a Midway Auto Plow truck was found on fire in the business parking lot as well. The first fire was thought to be electrical in nature, but now it appears there may be someone intentionally starting the fires. The total loss of both plow trucks is estimated at $22,000.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify a male who forged two stolen checks at a business in the City of Wausau.
A checkbook was stolen from a pick-up truck and subsequently two checks totaling $1321.90 were written at Fleet Farm on Tuesday, 05/10/16. The suspect purchased an M18 Fuel ½ inch HTIW with Ring Kit, which is a Milwaukee High Tork Impact Wrench. Also purchased with the stolen checks was an M18 3.0 AH Red Lithium XC Battery 2 pack, two M12 12 volt 2.0 AH LI-Ion Compact Batteries, a Milwaukee 7 ¼ Circular Saw, 18M 18 V Job Site Blue Tooth Radio/Charger and an M18 Fuel Impact Driver Kit.
The suspect was captured on surveillance video in Fleet Farm. The suspect is a white male wearing a plaid shirt, black glasses and a camouflage hat with a design on the front.

On May 9th, 2016, a park guest reported to the staff at Rib Mountain State Park how graffiti had been spray painted on the granite rocks within the park. One of the rocks had an “R” spray painted on it with green and black paint. Another rock “WILK” painted on it with yellow and black spray paint. By this graffiti, was additional spray painted vandalism in black paint. The vandalism is depicted in the photos.

Sometime between 4:30pm on Monday, 04/11/16, and 7am on Tuesday, 04/12/16, approximately $9600 worth of tools were stolen from an URBAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY trailer while it was parked at the Curling Club in Wausau. Most of the power tools stolen were marked for identification with the letters “UCC” and the date the tools were purchased. On most of the tools, the engraved areas were spray painted green to make it more obvious they were engraved. Some of the stolen tools included a HONDA GENERATOR, several DEWALT POWER TOOLS such as corded impact wrenches, angle grinders, variable screw guns, corded drills, spline rotary hammer, and Dewalt XRP batteries. Also taken was a Stihl leaf blower, HITACHI impact wrenches and many more tools.

Between March 24, 2016 and March 29, 2016, some entered a building in the 600 block of County Road B in the Town of Mosinee and stole multiple sets of tools. Stolen were a set of standard and metric combination wrenches, a set of brake wrenches, along with 3/8 and 1/2 inch ratchets and breaker bars. All of the stolen tools were Snap-On brand. The victim sustained a loss of around $1500.00.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person(s) responsible for felony theft and criminal damage at a business in the Township of Rib Mountain and the Village of Rothschild.
Sometime during the night of Saturday March 26, 2016 and the following Easter Sunday morning, unknown persons broke into the Saia, ABF, and Ultimate trucking terminals on Wood Duck Lane in Rib Mountain. These companies share a common parking lot on Wood Duck Lane.
The suspects brought the power tools necessary to gain entry into the building and to cut through hardened steel padlocks. Once the cargo on the docks was rifled through, the suspects stole a red 2008 Volvo Semi Tractor #08727. The truck was driven to the Old Dominion freight terminal in Rothschild before being used to steal a 28’ trailer loaded with truck and car tires. Within two days, the truck was recovered in Belvidere, Illinois and the trailer in Rockford, Illinois.
The suspects are thought to have knowledge of the trucking industry and the operation of large tractor trailer combinations.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find a 14 year old female that has been missing from the Village of Weston since October 11th 2015.
On Sunday, October 11, 14 year old Mackenzie Marken left her residence in Weston about 7am prior to her family waking up. Mackenzie has not been heard from since. She has not shown up at school and her friends have not heard from her. Mackenzie is described as have long brown straight hair and brown eyes. She is about 5’7 and 150 lbs. She wears purple glasses and may be wearing black combat boots.
Mackenzie attends Mosinee High School and is in 9th grade. There were reported sightings of Mackenzie on Friday 10/16/15 near River Park in Mosinee and also near Mosinee High School but she still has not been located.
The Everest Metro Police Department has an open ongoing investigation in an attempt to hopefully return Mackenzie home safely.

The male was seen breaking a window out of a car while it was parked on Park Road near Rib Mountain Dr. A second car had its window broken while it was parked on Park Road about halfway up the hill. Marathon County Crime Stoppers is looking for a white male who has two felony warrants and is suspected of another felony for fleeing an officer.
Matthew Robine, 32, is wanted for a felony warrant issued by Department of Corrections for a parole violation as well as a Marathon County warrant issued for a drug offense. In addition, on Monday, March 14th about noon, a Wausau Police Officer pulled over a silver 2002 Acura car with WI plate #889-XGJ for loud exhaust. As the officer approached the car, the car fled from the officer. The vehicle registration information given to pursuing officers led them to suspect the operator was Robine. With that knowledge and safety concerns for the public due to the excessive speed of the pursuit, the pursuit was terminated.

On March 2nd, 2016 a renter from a storage unit on Stewart Avenue reported how someone broke into his storage unit. Stolen from the unit was an ice fishing hand auger, a Strikemaster power auger, a FL8 Velilar fish locater, an underwater camera, a two person Eskimo style ice shack, a green Northland tackle box with fishing tackle, two boat anchors, and assorted tools. The victim didn’t have a specific time frame on when the property was stolen and it’s estimated he lost over $1,000 in property.
