Theft of Travel Trailer

STATUS: FOUNDMarathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person who stole a travel trailer in the Village of Weston.
Sometime between the evening of Thursday, 05/21/15, and early morning of Friday, 05/22/15, a 24’ 2002 American Surplus and Manufacturing, Inc. travel trailer was stolen from Paul’s Paint parking lot on Camp Phillips Road where it was being advertised for sale. The travel trailer is described as very unique as it had been converted into an ice fishing shack. The wheels on the travel trailer are hydraulic and there are cutout holes on the floor of the travel trailer for access for ice fishing. The travel trailer has windows, is black in color and has fishing decals on both sides.

Injured People at a Bar Fight

Marathon County Crime Stoppers trying to identify a person who hit two employees at a bar fight.
On April 19th, 2015 at about 1:00 AM there was a bar fight at the Hoffman House Bar and Restaurant in the Town of Rib Mountain. During the altercation, two employees tried to break up the fight and were both hit in the head multiple times. Both victims were taken to the hospital for medical attention. The suspect was described as a black male, about 5’10” tall and weighing about 170 pounds.

Asphalt Scammers

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is requesting your assistance with identifying con-artists posing as asphalt contractors. These criminals are operating vehicles and machinery that are consistent with asphalt work; however this is strictly for appearance.
The cons may tell you they have leftover materials from a nearby paving job and offer a discounted price. When the work is finished, the total bill will be substantially higher and intimidation techniques are used to collect the money.
Please watch out for your elderly or disabled neighbors, friends and family. Please contact Law Enforcement if you are approached or see them operating in your neighborhoods.

Gas Station Armed Robbery
May 22, 2015
Marathon County Crime Stoppers is looking for information to identify an armed robbery suspect.
At about 1:30 AM on May 22nd, 2015, a lighter skinned black male came into The Store Gas Station on Stewart Avenue in the City of Wausau and forced the clerk to give him money and cigarettes. The suspect had a hand gun with him which the police believe now to be a BB or toy gun. The suspect is believed to be 17 to 22 years old with a thin build. He was wearing jeans, a hooded sweatshirt and at one point had a black tee shirt wrapped around his face. A witness saw the suspects face and said the suspect was clean shaven.

Armed Robbery
May 15, 2015
On Sunday 05/03/15, at about 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Cleveland Av and Emter St for a report of an armed robbery with a knife. Several officers responded. The suspects were not located.
Upon arrival officers located an 18 year old male and an 18 year old female who both provided information that the armed robbery took place in Riverside Park. Both explained they were sitting in a vehicle in Riverside Park, in the 100 blk of Sherman Street, when two males with knives approached the vehicle and demanded money.
The suspects had the victims exit the vehicle and then searched the vehicle, looking under the seats and going through the glove compartments. The males removed a Subway bag that contained a sandwich and a Walmart bag that contained some perfume and feminine hygiene products. The suspects also took some money from each victim.
The victims said they were told if they did not cooperate they would be punched and if they ran they would be shot in the back. The victims never saw the suspects display a firearm, only a folding 5 inch knife. The suspects asked them to lay face down on the ground. The female did, but the male victim fled the scene on foot to the area of Thomas St and Cleveland Av where he knocked on a neighbor’s door and was able to call 911 and ask for the help.
The female said that once the suspects heard the police sirens they fled the park on foot and she then called 911 and asked for officers. Both victims said they were not injured and did not need any medical attention. They met with officers for the next few hours and provided information and suspect descriptions.
The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect number 1- Described as a skinny male dressed in black saggy jeans and a sweatshirt with a hood pulled over his head, but may have “afro” type hair. Wearing black hunting gloves. Wearing a blue bandana pulled over his face, but appeared to have a pockmarked face. The suspect is believed to be a White/Male, thin build, 5’05” tall. Approximately 16 to 20 years of age.
Suspect number 2- Described as larger than suspect number 1. Wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. Wearing saggy jeans. Wearing black hunting gloves. Wearing a green bandana over his face. The suspect’s race is unknown, gender is male, medium build, 5’08” to 5’09” tall. Approximately 16 to 20 years of age.
Weapon(s)- Both may be armed with a folding hunting knife about 5 inches in length. In addition, they did threaten to use a firearm although the victims did not see one.

Vehicle Damaged

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is attempting to find out who damaged a vehicle while it was parked in the Town of Rib Mountain.
On April 26th, 2015, a red 2010 Kia four door car was parked in the parking lot by Kohl’s and Olive Garden on Rib Mountain Drive. Sometime between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, someone “keyed” the car damaging the paint on the driver’s door and slashed at least one of the tires. The owner of the vehicle suffered a minimum of a $600.00 loss.

Harassment/Disorderly Conduct
April 28, 2015
On Wednesday 04/08/15, Wausau City Council President Romey Wagner received an intimidating/threatening letter and an envelope in the mail at his home. In addition, the envelope contained a white granular substance.
On 04/08/15 at about 7:45 p.m., Mr. Wagner brought the envelope and the contents to the Wausau Police Department and it was examined by the Wausau Fire Department and a U.S. Postal Inspector. The substance was not a hazardous material and it was determined to be a pancake mixture after being tested by the WI State Lab of Hygiene.
The letter makes several statements about how City Council members should watch their steps and actions. We have advised the City Council members to closely monitor their mail and as of today no one else has received a letter or anything suspicious.
The police department believes there is no danger to the public. The police department is continuing to investigate who may have sent the letter and contents to Mr. Wagner.

Storage Unit Burglaries in Weston

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the people responsible for several burglaries and thefts in the Village of Weston.
Sometime between 12/26/14 and 12/28/14, there were several storage units broken into at 29 West Storage located on Service Lane in Weston. The locks were cut off of the units and thousands of dollars in property was taken. Some of the stolen items include: a Kawasaki dirt bike, a Honda three-wheeler ATV, numerous construction tools, a Marlin 22 long rifle, a yellow 24” Palam Pro snow blower, a black 48” Craftsman snow blower attachment for a lawnmower, a Tapco siding brake for siding houses, a radio controlled T-Max truck, a signed Brett Farve picture, and numerous other items.

Criminal Damage and Theft

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify two males involved in a criminal damage and theft incident in the Township of Rib Mountain.
On Saturday, March 28th about 10:47pm, two males enter Wal-Mart. One male selects about $530 in merchandise and places it in a shopping cart and heads to the garden center. The male suspects then damaged the security fencing in the greenhouse area to gain access from the outside. One of the males then left the store with the items which were left in the greenhouse area through the emergency exit. The two males left in a tan or gold colored newer model four door sedan with lower fog lights and a sunroof.

Joshua A. King is wanted by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department for selling cocaine and by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a probation violation. King is a 21 year old white male. He is 6” tall and weighs about 200 pounds with brown hair and eyes. King has a tattoo on the right side of his neck reading “Chulo”.

Stolen Vehicle

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person who stole a vehicle in the Township of Rib Mountain.
On 02/09/15 about 6:30pm, a 2002 Gold Chevy Impala was stolen from the Kwik Trip in Rib Mountain. The suspect is a white male, wearing a white baseball hat with an off centered dark colored logo on the front of it, a dark colored Nike jacket, and tan pants. He has a chin strap style beard. The stolen Impala was located abandoned on Garfield St in Stanley WI a few days later. The male suspect told a witness that he just got out of jail, the cops took his car, and he needed a ride to Eau Claire.

Person Shot in Leg/Wanted Person

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who was irresponsible while shooting a firearm in the Town of Elderon, resulting in a person being shot in the leg.
On March 23rd, 2015, a male was working on a house on Evergreen Road near State Road 49 in the Town of Elderon when he was shot in the leg by a stray bullet.
Devon M. Roth, a man born in 1994, is a person of interest in the investigation. During the investigation, it was also learned that Roth, who lives in the area, has two unrelated arrest warrants. One is for not paying a fine; the other for a probation violation.

Arsons

Between 03/03/15 and 03/13/15, a 1985 Skylark camper trailer was set on fire near CTH Y and STH 52. It appeared the LP at the front of the trailer was used to start the fire.
Between 03/14/15 and 03/15/15, a 1998 Dodge 1500 Ram was also set on fire near the same location and is a complete loss. The total loss is estimated at about $6000.

Theft from House
March 15, 2015
Marathon County Crime Stoppers learn who took two guns along with other property from a house in the Town of Mosinee.
Sometime between July, 2014 and February, 2015, some went to a house in the 400 block of Scout Road in the Town of Mosinee and took a Springfield Armory .40 caliber pistol, a Baker Arms double barrel shotgun, a mink coat, an antique Underwood typewriter, and a Generac Model X2000 generator. This incident resulted in the theft of over $2,000.00 of property.

Vehicle Theft

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify a female who stole a vehicle from a business in the City of Wausau.
On Tuesday, 02/03/15 about 11:44am, a tan 4 door Toyota Camry was stolen from a business in the 500 block of Jefferson St. A female was captured on video walking back and forth by the vehicle and eventually she enters it and drives out of the lot with the vehicle. The vehicle was located 10 days later in the Village of Weston, but the thief’s identity is still unknown. A video of this theft is available at WAOW.com.

Felony Theft

STATUS: SOLVEDMarathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify a person who stole three smart phones in the Town of Rib Mountain.
Between 2:00 and 4:00 AM on January 28, 2015, someone stole two HTC Desire 610 cell phones and an Android KitKat 4.4 smart phone along with other merchandise. Because of the value of the product, the suspect is wanted for felony theft. The male suspect appeared to be white with a receding hair line which was shaved. He had a dark beard and mustache and was wearing what appeared to be prescription glasses and dark skateboard style shoes. He was also wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt.

Shooting at Bar

Another Storage Unit Burglary

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is attempting to determine who broke into some storage units in the Town of Maine.
Between January 2nd and January 9th, 2015, someone broke into multiple storage units in the 5000 block of N. 35th Avenue in the Town of Maine. The suspect cut off padlocks on these units. A green in color electric toy motorcycle was taken from one of the units.

Bank Robbery in Weston

STATUS: IN CUSTODYMarathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to find the man who robbed a bank in the Village of Weston.
At 11:50 AM on January 13, 2015, a man went into a US Bank branch at the corner of Camp Phillips Road and Schofield Avenue (County Road X and County Road JJ). The man passed a note to a teller demanding money. The man was described as being about 6’01” tall with a thin build. He was wearing a hat, sunglasses, a grayish scarf, dark colored jacket, plaid shirt, gloves, blue jeans, and what appeared to be tan colored work boots.
