SOLVED!!!!
Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a person responsible for the theft of a Cheetah print leather wallet containing $700.

 

On February 25th, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a wallet was left at the Laundry Room, in the Village of Weston. The wallet contained personal documents and $700 in cash.

 

On February 26th, 2024, at approximately 4:50 a.m., an unidentifiedfemale was seen on camera stealing the wallet and its contents. The female suspect was described as a white female, with blonde hair. She was wearing a black winter jacket, black pants, tan colored shoes.

 

The female suspect left the Laundry Room alone, in a blue dodge minivan with significant rust on the portion of the van. A license plate was not available.

Retail Theft
January 17, 2024

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help in identifying a retail theft suspect.

 

On January 10th, 2024, a man entered the Target store located at 2707 Scofield Avenue in the Village of Weston and stole two 750mL bottles of Hennessey Cognac valued at 48.99 each.

 

The male concealed the bottles of alcohol under/in his clothing and left the store without paying for them and without permission from any employee of the store.  Loss prevention attempted to contact the male, but he disregarded them.  The male then got into a silver Pontiac Grand Am with a different colored front bumper (possibly red) and left.

 

The male is described as follows:

 

A white male wearing green hoodie, ripped blue jeans, and white shoes. The male had longer black/dark brown unkept hair and short facial hair including a mustache and beard.  The male appeared to be in his early 20’s.

Armed Robbery
January 03, 2024

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help in identifying an armed robbery suspect.

 

On December 29th, 2023, at 9:50 PM a man entered the R Store gas station/convenience store located at 1511 N 3rd Street in the City of Wausau.  The male walked to the counter and asked to purchase a Black and Mild Cigar and requested a bag.  The male then placed money on the counter to pay for the cigar and when the cashier opened the till drawer the male produced what the cashier believed was a gun wrapped in a plastic bag and demanded money from the drawer.

 

Th cashier placed money from the till on the counter and the unknown male subject took the money in his hand and left the store.  

 

The male left on foot and walked east then south through the alley between N. 3rd and N. 4th Street.

 

The male is described as follows:

 

A black male wearing all black (Possibly a long black hooded robe) wearing gray/blue thin knit/stretchy gloves and a bandage or gauze covering his face.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your identifying a person responsible for a theft from Walmart in the Town of Rib Mountain.

 

On December 12, 2023, at 1:05 PM an unknown attempted to push a cart of camping items valued at $862.69 out of the Walmart store without paying.  The male had been in the store for approximately 3 hours.  The male drove away in a black Chevrolet Impala with a female in the front passenger seat.

 

The male is described as in his mid to late 20’s with long blonde hair, facial hair, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black baseball cap.  The male is approximately 5’10” – 6’0” tall and 170-190 pounds.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a person responsible for breaking into vehicles and stealing money, wallets, clothing, and other miscellaneous items from said vehicles.
 
On November 29th, 2023 at approximately 10:00 a.m., an unknown male went through vehicles parked at a business in the 100 block of Ellen Street in the Village of Rothschild, in addition to vehicles at other business in the area. 
 
The person of interest was described as a white male, approximately 40-50 years old, wearing black boots, black pants, black jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt, black baseball hat, black sunglasses, and white gloves. The male was operating an early 2000’s red Buick LaCrosse, the license plate is unknown.

Unauthorized Use of Credit Card
November 22, 2023

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a person responsible for the unauthorized use of someone else's credit card.

 

At approximately 3:25 p.m., the suspect used the victim’s credit card at Sam’s Club to purchase gift cards in the amount of $1,032.40. At approximately 4:02 p.m., the suspect used the victim’s credit card at Target in the amount of $214.42. It is believed the suspect obtained the credit card at Hobby Lobby.

Theft/Unauthorized Use of Debit Card

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying the person in the attached pictures who is responsible for the theft of and unauthorized use of a debit card.
On August 30, 2023, at 1:39 PM a light skinned male wearing a red shirt, brown knit winter hat, large aviator style sunglasses and blue jeans rode a small, possibly foldable, bicycle to an ATM in the City of Wausau. The male then used the stolen debit card to withdraw $400.00. The debit card was taken from the Open Door, a local charitable organization that provides services to those in immediate need. Open door did not give consent for the card to be taken or used.

Falsifying Statements & Identity to a Financial Institution

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a person responsible for providing false statements to a financial institution by using false personal identifying information.

 

On September 29th, 2023 an unknown female entered a financial institution in the City of Wausau and the Village of Rib Mountain. The female defrauded the one financial institution out of $9,850. She also defrauded the other financial institution out of $5,000. The female used four different Minnesota ID cards, with her picture, but with the names of legitimate financial institution members.

 

She was described to be between 5’5” and 5’6” tall, roughly 130 lbs, and had red curly hair. The female also had unknown tattoo’s on both ankles.

Prescription Fraud

On August 26, 2023, at 1:25 PM a heavy-set black female in her 20’s who is about 5’5” tall and wore gray scrub type clothing entered Young’s Pharmacy in the City of Wausau and attempted to get two fraudulent prescriptions filled. Through the investigation it was discovered the same female had been able to get the fraudulent prescriptions filled at two other Wausau area pharmacies during the same time frame.

On August 30, 2023, two adult females, described as having darker complexion and being in their 20’s, entered the Scrubs Boutique and More at 226831 Rib Mountain Drive. While inside the store the females concealed $394.47 worth of merchandise then left the store without paying for it.

Theft & Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards
August 30, 2023

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a person responsible for theft and fraudulent use of credit cards.
Back in February we told you about a distract and steal theft at TJ Maxx in the Town of Rib Mountain where a suspect distracts a customer while an accomplice steals their wallet from their purse then uses the credit cards to make unauthorized purchases a few minutes later.
We featured a similar theft in July of this year and now we have even more instances of this same type of theft occurring at TJ Maxx and the cards being used within minutes at the nearby Sams Club.
These individuals appear to be part of an organized crime ring doing these types of thefts across the state and likely in neighboring states as well. There were at least four thefts of this type in the rib mountain area between Thursday August 17th and Monday August 20th. The individuals appear to be the same as those from cases earlier this year.
Please use extra caution when shopping and only take what you need into a store and keep your valuables on your person. Don’t let someone distract you that you do not know and be aware of your surroundings and other people near you.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a people responsible for a retail theft.
On June 14th, 2023, at approximately 9:35 p.m, the unidentified people in the photo, stole from Kwik Trip in the Village of Weston on two separate occasions.
At 8:50 p.m., a male who was wearing a blue sports jersey and khaki shorts along with female wearing a green t-shirt and blue jeans go to the area where the engine lubricants are stored. The female takes a bottle of engine lubricant off the shelve and conceals it in her purse. The male and female exit the store without paying for the engine lubricant. Store staff was not able to identify the cost of the stolen bottle of lubricant.
Earlier that same day the same individuals stole three hot food items from the roller grill at the same Kwik Trip Store valued at $6.52.

Theft of Unauthorized Use of Credit Card
July 19, 2023

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a person responsible for a theft of and unauthorized use of a credit card.
An adult female was shopping at Lamb’s Fresh Market in the Town of Rib Mountain on June 27th, 2023. While in the store she was approached by a Hispanic female who asked her for assistance reading a label on an item. During this time a Hispanic male stole her wallet from her purse. A short time later, at 4:04 PM, the Victim’s credit card was used at Sam’s Club where over $2,000.00 of phone cards and one bag of Skinny Pop popcorn were purchased without her permission.
The male suspect is pictured below and is described as follows: Tan skinned with black hair and wearing a gray baseball hat, orange flannel shirt, black undershirt, and khaki shorts.
The total loss was $2,071.38.
This is not the first and likely not the last theft of this nature in our shopping districts. While shopping please keep purses closed and close to you and not left in a cart. Limit what you take into the store and keep them on your person at all times. Be aware of your surroundings and don’t let someone distract you from your valuables.

Between 4:00 PM on June 12, 2023 and 7:00 AM on June 13, 2023, an unknown person(s) entered a road construction site on County Road KK in the Town of Mosinee and stole four collapsible road signs and a red metal gas can.  The road signs are made from a fabric material and are a reflective orange with the words “BUMP AHEAD” on them.

On June 3rd, 2023, at approximately 10:45 AM, an unidentified adult male entered the Cellcom store with an elementary school aged child. The adult and child stole a display phone and replaced it with a phone the child had brought into the store. The phone swap was discovered soon after the man and child left.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers and City of Wausau Police Department are asking for your help identifying persons responsible for a theft of gasoline from the BP at 1205 Merrill Avenue in the City of Wausau.

 

On May 18, 2023, at 11:49 AM two black males wearing ski masks drove off from the BP gas station without paying for $21.00 in fuel.  The males were described as black males one wearing blue joggers, green crocs, and a gray hoodie with red lettering that said “Backwoods” on the front.  The other male who stayed inside the vehicle wore a blue hooded sweatshirt.

 

 

The vehicle was described as a white Ford Fusion with a cracked windshield and a sticker on the lower driver’s side corner of the windshield.  The vehicle did not have any registration plates attached to it.
