Criminal Damage to a Vehicle

A vehicle was damaged in the Town of Maine and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person responsible. 

Sometime between March 4 and March 5, 2013, someone scratched the paint on all the panels of a 2006 white E-150 Ford Van while it was parked on N. 32^nd Avenue using a key or other sharp object.  The damaged caused totaled $3,768.

Theft of Farm Seeder Boxes
April 28, 2013

In April, 2013, a person stole pieces from farm machinery in the Town of Maine and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is attempting to identify who is responsible. 

Between April 12^th and April 19^th, 2013 someone removed six yellow and black seed boxes from a John Deere corn planter and stole them from a farm implement dealer.  The boxes were made of fiberglass and were about 13½” wide, 21” long, and 25” high.  There were mechanical pieces attached to the boxes in order for the boxes to work on the planter.  The victim sustained about a $3,000.00 loss.  Below a pictures of the feed boxes.

Stolen Coins
April 21, 2013

Several silver dollar collector coins were stolen from a coin show in the Township of Rib Mountain and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who took them.

A coin show was held at Howard Johnson`s Hotel on Sunday, April 14, 2013 and a vendor there had twenty six coins stolen.  Some of the coins were Morgan coins minted between 1878 and 1921.  The remainder of the coins were Peace coins minted from 1922 through 1926.   Shown here are pictures of  coins which are similar to those which were stolen.  The victim reported his loss to be $2,350.00.

Theft of Generator and Wood Pellets
April 14, 2013

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify people responsible for stealing a generator and a large amount of wood pellets from within the Village of Athens.

In the beginning of February, 2013, a Honda EU3000is generator was stolen from within a business.  Stolen from an adjacent business were five tons (1,250 bags) of Rib Mountain Bio wood pellets.  Two tons were blended pellets; the other three tones were pine pellets.  The generator was valued at $2,400.00.  The wood pellets were valued at $1,095.00.  Below are pictures of a similar generator and a bag of pellets.

Criminal Damage to Property

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person responsible for damaging a Red Box machine in the Township of Rib Mountain.

Sometime between 11pm on Saturday March 23^rd, and 7:30am on Sunday, March 24^th, 2013 someone smashed the touch screen on the Red Box movie vending machine located outside Quality Foods IGA at 2900 Rib Mountain Drive.  The touch screen had to be replaced as a result.

Attempted Armed Robbery Suspect
March 31, 2013

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify the person responsible for an Attempted Armed Robbery within the City of Wausau.

At about 4:15 PM on Friday, March 8, 2013, a juvenile male was the victim of an Attempted Armed Robbery on 2^nd Street between Jefferson St and Scott St in the City of Wausau.  A male, about 6’2” tall with a medium build, wearing a black ski mask, a brown Carhartt style jacket, blue jeans, and brown work books displayed a knife at the juvenile and attempted the robbery.  The robbery was unsuccessful and the suspect left the area after pushing the juvenile to the ground.

Attempted Armed Robbery
March 24, 2013

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the suspect in an attempted armed robbery and endangering safety by the use of a firearm in the City of Wausau.

On Monday, 02/25/13, about 2:40am, a gunshot was heard in the 600 block of N 10^th Ave.  A witness described the shooter as a black male approximately 5’10, dressed in all black with a black mask with white markings, described as a Zebra pattern.  The suspect left in a vehicle described as a turquoise or aqua 4-door Mazda with a small tail or similar type vehicle.  Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this incident.

Home Burglary with Stolen Tools, Electronics, and Gun

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify people responsible for breaking into a house in the Town of Day.

In the afternoon or evening of November 1, 2012, at least two people broke into a house and a garage on River Road in the Town of Day.  The suspects forced their way into the structures and stole multiple tools to include a welder, a black and yellow tool box, red air tanks, air tools, spray guns, and hand tools.  Also stolen were a television, a Remington 7 mm bolt action rifle, and game systems.  Some of the items have been recovered by law enforcement.  The victim in this burglary sustained a loss of about $5,000.00

Home Burglary with Several Stolen Rings

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify the person(s) responsible for breaking into a house in the Town of Maine.

During daylight hours on February 19, 2013, an unknown person entered a house on East Cassidy Drive and stole an X-Box Kinect and five rings.  Two men’s rings, both about size 10½ were taken.  One was made of tungsten with a brushed middle stripe on it; the other was made of yellow gold with three diamonds set at an angle. 

The other three rings were for women, all believed to be about size 8.  The first ring belonged to the victim’s grandmother and was about 75 years old.  The ring was made of 18 carat yellow gold and had a large solitaire diamond with two smaller diamonds mounted on each side of the larger diamond.  This ring had a wedding band soldered to it with six to eight diamonds.  The last ring was made of yellow gold with a three diamonds set, the middle diamond being the largest and with five small diamonds to each side of the middle diamond set.  The picture is of this ring.

Damage to Red Pine Trees at Nine Mile Recreation Area
February 24, 2013

Hundreds of Red Pine trees have been damaged in Nine Mile County Forest Recreation Area off of Red Bud Rd in the Township of Rib Mountain and Marathon Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve this crime.

On January 8, 2013 it was discovered that there was extensive damage done to Red Pine trees in the form of girdling, tops being broken off and pruning. The damage done to the trees will result in death or significant deformations.  It appears that some of the damage to the trees may be from previous years going back as far as 4-5 years.  The most recent vandalism to the Red Pines appears to have possibly occurred the weekend of January 4-6, 2013. The Red Pine damage covers approximately 3 acres. It is estimated that about 600 trees have been damaged with a total loss of $31,800.

Stolen snowmobile trailer

Marathon County Crime Stoppers needs your help to identify the person or persons who stole a snowmobile trailer in the Town of Wausau.

During the morning hours of Sunday, December 16th, 2012, an 8’x10’ snowmobile trailer was stolen from a yard on North 21st Street in the Town of Wausau. The trailer had nylon runners where the snowmobile skis ride and rubber pads for the snowmobile track. The trailer had blue and yellow factory graphics on the side which included the word "Ultra". The trailer had a 2" hitch and had been locked with a padlock.

Stolen jewelry from mulitple stores
February 10, 2013

On Saturday, January, 19th, 2013 around 2:00 p.m., a white male in approximately his mid 40’s stole two rings from Kohl’s in Wausau. The male requested to look at two rings. While the employee was retrieving boxes for the rings, the man took the rings and walked out the door. One of the rings had a 14 karat gold band with three diamonds. The second ring had a gold band with a silver inlaid pattern to it.

The male is believed to be about 5’5 to 5’9" tall with large glasses. It appears he weighs about 170 to 190 pounds and has reddish/brown hair with a receding hair line. He was wearing a dark blue pea coat and blue jeans. This man has also stolen expensive rings from Kohl’s in Janesville, WI and Moline, IL. Those thefts were on December 18th, 2012 and on January 12th, 2013.

Explosives detonated near house
January 27, 2013

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the people responsible for setting off explosives at a residence on CTH S in the Township of Cassel.

On Friday, January 11, 2013 about 11:48 p.m., explosions were heard outside a residence on CTH S.  When the homeowners checked outside, they found several bottles which appeared to have been filled with explosives had detonated.  It appeared that several individuals had entered onto the property and set off the explosives.  Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Cabin Burglary

A cabin was burglarized on Hansen Rd in the Township of Harrison and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.

Sometime between 5pm on Tuesday December 18^th and Noon on Wednesday December 19^th, a cabin was broken into and the following items were taken:  A 22 cal savage rifle w/Nikon scope, a 16 gauge stainless barrel single shot shotgun, .50 cal CVA Muzzleloader, a stainless barrel Thompson muzzleloader, an Excalibur crossbow with four power scope, a Horton camouflage crossbow with pin sights, a Nikon range finder, a Mathews SQ2 bow, a Stihl 025 Chainsaw, a Husqvarna 350 chainsaw, a coyote rug, a Cuddeback attack game camera, a 3 ½ horsepower Mercury 2 cycle black outboard motor, a Minn Kota trolling motor, a night vision scope and several other items.

Criminal Damage To Vehicle

A vehicle was intentionally damaged while it was parked on Rainbow Drive in the Township of Berlin. Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person(s) responsible.

Between 3:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on November 27, 2012, a pickup truck was parked in a driveway in the 9000 block of Rainbow Drive, Town of Berlin. An unknown person slashed the tires, broke the windows, and damaged the body, and engine components, causing $8000.00 damage to the vehicle.

Theft from semi trucks
December 16, 2012

Two semi tractors were entered, and items were stolen from inside them while they were parked at 4600 Rib Mountain Drive in the Township of Rib Mountain. Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person(s) responsible.

Sometime between Tuesday November 20^th and Monday, November 26^th, 2012 a 2009 Maroon Kenworth Semi-Tractor was entered after someone removed the lower door window in the passenger door.  Once inside the suspect ransacked the cab and sleeper area.  A silver 2005 Kenworth Semi-Tractor was also entered and gone through.  Personal items and money were reported missing as a result.

Stolen ATV & Trailer
November 11, 2012

Around October 15^th, 2012, a 6’x12’ enclosed trailer with an ATV inside was stolen from the area of Kronenwetter Drive and Maple Ridge Rd.  At this same time, other construction equipment was stolen and damaged.  The stolen trailer is a white in color, enclosed 2006 H&S Loadmaster trailer.  Inside the trailer was a green and black 2005 John Deere Buck 500 ATV.  Attached to the ATV was a GPS mount and a gun mount.  The loss to the owners is over $12,000.  Below are pictures of a similar trailer and ATV.

Purse theft
November 04, 2012

Fraudulent cash withdrawals were made from an ATM machine in the City of Wausau and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the thief.

On 07/24/12 between 3:00am and 5:00am, a black purse was stolen from inside a vehicle parked on Lake View Dr in the City of Wausau.  The purse contained jewelry, credit and debit cards and other items.  About 3 hrs later, cash withdrawals were made at an ATM machine in the City of Wausau using the stolen debit card.
