Damage to business sign
October 28, 2012

A business sign was damaged in the Town of Maine and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person responsible.

 

On Saturday, September 29, 2012, between 12:00pm and 1:30pm, a lighted sign for Schmidt’s Ballroom located at 7085 County Road A was damaged.  The sign was about seven feet wide by four feet tall.  It appears the sign was damaged by a vehicle that may have run off the road and struck it.  The loss is estimated at about $3000.

Criminal Damage to Property - Graffiti
October 21, 2012

The Rothschild Police Department and Marathon County Crime Stoppers are asking for your assistance in apprehending the persons involved with the defacing and criminal damage to bridges within the Village.

 

On 10-05-12 and 10-17-22, it was discovered that there was a considerable amount of graffiti on the walking trail in the Cedar Creek area located on Bus Hwy 51 and Eagle Nest Blvd.  As a result of the graffiti, bridge structures, retaining walls and walking path bridges were defaced and damaged.  This resulted in repairs and repainting the areas, which are estimated to cost more than $1,000.  

 

The graffiti appears to be recent and it depicts several words which are “TAG, “MOVE”, “CAKE”, “RISE” and other symbols.

Counterfiet Money
October 07, 2012

There were several counterfeit $100 bills passed in the Colby- Abbotsford area and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the suspects in these photographs.

 

During the week of September 2, 2012 there were 4 complaints of counterfeit $100 bills that had been received by merchants in the Colby-Abbotsford area.  There are two suspects.  One is a white female in her mid 30’s with a tattoo on her right forearm and one on her right chest.  The other suspect is a white male, described as being thin with short hair and wearing wire rim glasses.  In at least two of the cases, they had a 2-4 year old blonde child with them.  A witness reported the female left in a silver 4-door vehicle along with the male.

Burglary to Business
September 28, 2012

Between the morning of September 23rd, 2012 and the morning of September 24th, 2012, someone broke into a business in the Town of Norrie, near Hatley and stole business documents, four vehicles which have since be recovered, and several Wisconsin Dealer License Plates, with license numbers starting with MV 341.   The letters after the number are not known at this time.  The license plates have green lettering on a gold background and are similar to the one shown.

Theft of aluminum dock ramp
September 23, 2012

An aluminum dock ramp was stolen from River Park in Mosinee and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the thief responsible.

 

Sometime between July 1 and July 22, 2012 an extruded aluminum dock ramp that spanned from the shore to a wooden dock was taken from River Park in the City of Mosinee.  The ramp was about five feet wide and ten feet long.

Burglary of home construction site
September 16, 2012

A home construction site was burglarized and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the people responsible.

 

Sometime during the evening of July 7th, 2012, or early morning hours of July 8th, 2012, more than $1,000 worth of tools were stolen from a home building site in the Town of Texas.  Stolen was a Coleman Powermate Air Compressor, Senco roofing nailers, a cordless drill, and a cordless hammer drill.

Suspicious Fires

Thefts from vehicles in City of Mosinee
September 02, 2012

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify the person or persons who were responsible for breaking into several cars in the City of Mosinee.

 

The Mosinee Police Department received multiple different theft from vehicle complaints between August 12th and August 13th, 2012.  The thefts were concentrated in the area of State Road 153 and Interstate 39 and on the west side of the city near 20th Street.  Taken in the break-ins were money, cigarettes, electronics (car radio face plates, GPS units, etc), a purse, and a clarinet.    Over $7000 in property was stolen.

Residential Burglaries - Town of Stettin
August 26, 2012

There were several residential burglaries in the Township of Stettin and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve these crimes. 

                                

Three residences located on STH 107, CTH O and Stettin Drive in the Township of Stettin were broken into during the last 30 days and some of the items stolen include a 2004 Gray Dodge Ram truck, a custom-built auto engine for a Mitsubishi Eclipse, a metal engine stand, a Garret Borg Warner auto hybrid turbo charger, an HP Pavilion 1700 laptop computer,  55” Vizio LED TV, a 43” Samsung Plasma TV,  a Playstation 3 gaming unit and 7 PS3games, 4 motorcycle helmets, money, a Ready Heater, and an Oxy-Acetylene Torch set-up with homemade cart.

Criminal Damage to Property
August 19, 2012

There were several criminal damage to property incidents that occurred in the Town of Rib Mountain and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve these crimes.

 

Sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 26 and 5:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27th, someone sprayed black spray paint on several vehicles, RVs, mailboxes and garage doors.  The spray painting consisted of vulgar and racial slurs.  The damage occurred on Lily Lane, Bellflower Street, Bleeding Heart Street, Falcon Way, Jonquil Lane and Quail Avenue.

Criminal Damage to DC Everest Middle School
August 12, 2012

The DC Everest Middle School in the Village of Weston has been the target of vandalism and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve this crime.

 

Sometime during the last two weeks of July, damage has been done to a shed, the concession stand and the school.  A door and window were damaged on the shed and windows were broken on the concession stand.  The suspects were also on the roof of the school, damaged an antenna, and threw paving blocks from the rooftop onto the sidewalk below smashing them.

Burglary to residence in Town of Knowlton

On Monday, July 30th, 2012, an unknown person broke into a house on School Road and stole money and jewelry.  The total loss to the victims was over $3,500.00.  On July 26th, a citizen reported a suspicious turquoise vehicle with three males in it, in the area of the burglarized home.  On July 29th, another citizen reported a suspicious male was seen in the vicinity.

Suspicious Fires
July 22, 2012

 

The Wausau Police and Wausau Fire Departments responded to four suspicious grass fires on Friday, July 13, 2012 within the City of Wausau and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person(s) responsible for setting them.

 

The first fire was reported at 5:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Townline Rd.  The fire was adjacent to the railroad tracks and had burned the vegetation. The second fire was reported at 5:42 p.m. in the woods north of the intersection of Kickbusch St. and 13th St.  The fired burned pine needles that covered the ground and the bottom of some trees.  The third fire was reported about 6:43 p.m. in the 700 block of Jefferson St.  The fire was again along the railroad tracks.  The fourth fire was reported at about 7:11 p.m. in the woods north of Thom Field.  There was no structural damage as a result of these fires.

Stolen pop-up camper
July 08, 2012

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify the person or persons who were responsible for stealing a camper in the Town of Bergen.

 

Sometime between June 21st and July 1st, 2012, someone drove onto private property on Lakehurst Road and stole a pop-up camper.  The camper was a 14 ½’ foot 1993 Palomino “Filly-RG” with a single-axle design.  It appeared the trailer was stolen while the front trailer jack was in a down position.  The loss to the owners between the camper and contents is about $1850.00.

Criminal damage to church air conditioner
June 24, 2012

Marathon County Crime Stoppers would like your help to identify the person or persons who damaged the air conditioning units at a church in the Town of Rib Mountain.

                             

On Wednesday, May 23, 2012, a representative of a church on Rib Mountain Drive reported someone had cut the copper lines which carry the refrigerant for the church’s air conditioners.  Three lines were cut completely through and a fourth was damaged to where the refrigerant flow was restricted.  The church sustained an estimated loss of $4,000.00 to repair the air conditioners.

Theft of steel plates from construction site
June 17, 2012

Approximately 100 steel plates were stolen from a road construction site in the City of Wausau and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve this crime.

                     

Sometime between May 25 and June 1, 2012, someone took approximately 100 steel plates from a road construction site in the 900 block of S. 60th Ave in Wausau.  The plates were described as  ¼” steel, with some being approximately 24 inches by 36 inches square, and the others being 36 inches round.   There were approximately 50 of each size stolen.  The steel plates were used to cover manholes during construction of the roads.   The loss is estimated at approximately $6500.

Headstones stolen from cemetery

Several headstones were stolen from a cemetery in the Township of Norrie and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve this crime.

 

Sometime in the Summer or Fall of 2011 or the Spring of 2012, someone took 6 headstones from St. Philomene cemetery, located at N1111 Cemetery Rd in the Township of Norrie.  The headstones taken were small headstones located near the main headstone with the family name.  The stolen headstones were discovered when people were getting the gravesites ready for Memorial Day services.

Sometime between 11:00pm on April 9, 2012 and 11:00am on April 10, 2012, an unknown person(s) damaged and removed copper coils from two outdoor Carrier model air conditioning units which were located behind a business on North Mountain Rd (CTH NN) near I39 in the Township of Rib Mountain.  The damage is estimated at approximately $5000.
