Television stolen from Aspirus Cardiac Institute

A television was stolen from Aspirus Hospital in Wausau on Easter Sunday and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve this crime.
On April 8, 2012, (Easter Sunday), at about 10:38 am, a 32” Samsung LCD television was stolen from the Cardiac Institute waiting room on the east side of Aspirus Hospital. The suspects are two younger, adult white males. The male wearing the t-shirt is seen on surveillance exiting the Cardiac Institute with the TV tucked under his right arm. The suspect’s truck appears to be teal in color and has about a 3” strip of silver or grey that runs along the bottom edge of the body. There appears to be several items in the box of the pick-up truck.

Fire to pole building

A party was held on private property which led to a pole building being burnt and damaged. Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch those responsible.
In the morning hours of March 11, 2012, a pole building was discovered on fire on Pine Bluff Road in the Town of Texas. After the fire was put out, empty cans of beer were discovered inside the building. As a result of the fire, the building was deemed unsafe and had to be torn down.

Burglary to Mosinee Softball Association
April 22, 2012
An ATV and several tools were stolen from the Mosinee Softball Association located on Fremont St. in the City of Mosinee and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve this crime.
Sometime between Wednesday 03/28/12 and Saturday 03/31/12, someone forced the door open to the storage building for the Mosinee Softball Association and took a 1994 Polaris 4 x 2 Sportsman ATV, a 22” Simplicity 10hp lawnmower, a Karcher gas pressure washer, a Dewalt cordless drill, a Craftsman hammer drill, a 12V battery charger, a 2amp trickle battery charger and other miscellaneous tools.

Stolen Elk Antlers

Around April 2, 2012, a set of skull mounted elk antlers was stolen from a property on County Road H in the Town of Halsey. The antlers had been attached to a tree and the owner of the antlers estimated their value to be $3,000.00.

Stolen car from dealership

April 2, a 2012 Chevy Impala LTZ was stolen from Kocourek Chevrolet. The Chevy Impala was silver with leather interior and 6500 miles.

Thefts from vehicles
April 01, 2012
On March 10, 2012, property was stolen from two cars while the cars were parked in a driveway and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
In the early morning hours, two unlocked cars were parked in a driveway on Bluegill Ave. in the Town of Rib Mountain. When the owner went to one of the cars in the morning, he discovered a pair of Oakley sunglasses, $100, a Garmin GPS, a pair of binoculars, and a second pair of sun glasses missing from the car. When the owner checked his other car he found a pair of prescription reading glasses and an I-Pod Touch were stolen.
These thefts appear to be crimes of opportunity. The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind people to take precautions to protect their property by locking vehicles and homes, and not leaving valuables in view.

Tailgate thefts
March 25, 2012
There were four tailgates stolen from various locations in the Village and Town of Weston and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
The four tailgates were stolen between February 28 and March 6, 2012. The first tailgate was taken from a blue, 2011 Ford F250 Super Duty. The tailgate had a built in ladder and steps. The second tailgate was taken from a black, 2011 Ford F250 Super Duty. The tailgate had a camera in the handle of the tailgate. The third tailgate taken from a black, Ford F350 Super Duty. The fourth tailgate was taken from a black, 2008 Ford F350. This tailgate had a back up camera in the tailgate. The total loss is estimated at about $7500.

Residential Burglary

A residence was burglarized in the Township of Guenther and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
Sometime between Monday February 27 and Tuesday February 28, 2012, a residence on Duberstein Rd was broken into and the following items were stolen: A .22 cal handgun, 1911 Style, green and brown in color in a hard plastic case, a Ruger 9mm, black handgun, several $1 gold coins and $2 bills, and a men’s white gold wedding band and a women’s gold wedding band with about 6 or 7 diamonds.

Child's snowmobile stolen

Burglary of storage units

In February, 2012, a storage facility in the Town of Mosinee was broken into and damaged, and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person(s) responsible.
On February 24, 2012, someone cut the locks off of multiple storage units at a storage facility on County Road B in the Town of Mosinee. Once inside the storage units, the person(s) damaged the structure and moved between nine different units. Over $6,000.00 in property was stolen to include an industrial drill press, an ATV/motorcycle lift, two tool boxes, a bicycle with a trailer, and assorted hand tools.

Arsons

In February 2012, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department investigated two suspicious structure fires, relatively close to each other, and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
On February 7, 2012, an unknown person started a fire at abandoned school house at the intersection of Landing Road and County Rd Q in the Town of Hewitt. On February 18, 2012, a person entered a home about four miles north of the school house, and intentionally started a fire in the kitchen, damaging the home.

Theft of snow plow

A snowplow was stolen from Central Wisconsin Body and Hoist located at 7202 Zinser St in the Village of Weston and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
Between 11/15/11 and 12/28/11, an Arctic brand Snow Pusher 10’ Snowplow was stolen from Central WI Body and Hoist. It was a yellow sectional snowplow and designed for a skid steer. The value of the snow plow was $6,255.

Vehicles shot with rifle

On December 20, 2011, two vehicles were shot with a gun and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person(s) responsible.
Between 11:30 p.m. on December 19th and 12:30 a.m. on December 20th, 2011, two vehicles were shot with a .22 caliber gun. Both vehicles were parked on private property and were shot multiple times. Both houses where the vehicles were parked are on N. 18th Street near Wausau East High School in the Town of Wausau. Evidence was recovered in both of these incidents.

There were several items stolen from a gravel pit located at 150 County Rd P in the Township of Brighton and the owner and Marathon County Crime Stoppers are asking for your help to solve this crime.
Between the evening of Monday, 12-26-11 and the morning of Wednesday 12-28-11, someone entered the gravel pit on County Rd P and stole the following items: A 150hp Electric Motor that weighs about 2500 pounds, a 100ft long electric cord about 1 ½ to 2” in diameter, and three truck tires size 11r22.5 with aluminum rims. The total loss is estimated at about $22,500. The photographs are of items similar to the ones that were stolen.

Robbery of elderly woman
January 24, 2012
On Wednesday, 12/21/11, at approximately 8:25 pm, an elderly female was seated inside her vehicle in the Pick N Save parking lot in Wausau. An unknown male approached the female at the driver’s side door. The unknown male reached across the elderly female, stealing her purse from inside the vehicle. After stealing the purse, the suspect ran to the west. He was last seen running near the intersection of N. 2nd Ave and Oak St.
The suspect, who is seen in the video, is described as a white male, approximately 20-25 yrs old, approximately 5’08” to 5’09” tall, medium to thin build, and approximately 160-170 lbs. The suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded sweat shirt with the hood pulled over his head at the time of the robbery.

Hit & Run with Injuries
January 22, 2012
On January 15, 2012, there was a Hit and Run car crash in Rib Mountain and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
At about 1:00 a.m., January 15, 2012, two vehicles were driving in opposite directions on Rib Mountain Drive at Robin Lane. The victim was driving his red Ford Taurus north through the intersection. What is believed to be a blue Ford Taurus was driving south on Rib Mountain Drive and turned left onto Robin Lane. The suspect vehicle struck the driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle causing substantial damage, and injuring the driver. The suspect fled the scene without stopping.

Theft of automatic external difribrilator
January 08, 2012
Someone stole an AED from a vehicle in the Town of Rib Mountain and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
Between about 5:00 p.m. on December 18 and 6:00 p.m. on December 19, someone entered a vehicle owned by a volunteer member of the Rib Mountain Fire Department while it was parked either at his residence on Azalea Road in the Town of Rib Mountain or possibly at a hardware store on the west side of Wausau. The person stole a lime green Zoll Automatic External Defibrillator. This is a piece of emergency life saving equipment is used to restart a person’s heart after it stops. It will cost the Rib Mountain Fire Department up to $1,800.00 to replace the AED.

Damaged property
December 25, 2011
On December 15, 2011, two power poles and a residence were damaged and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person responsible.
At about 1:00 p.m. on December 15, 2011, two power poles and electrical service were damaged on Stettin Drive near County Road O in the Town of Stettin. A resident at the house said they heard a large bang or explosion outside. When the resident went outside, they discovered the power pole leading to their house was broken and the electrical service leading to the house was damaged. Across the street, another power pole and transformer were damaged. No vehicle parts were found in the area of either pole which led people to believe an over-height vehicle or possibly a dump truck with its box extended hit the wire over the roadway. It was also learned the same type of incident occurred on Stettin Drive near 120th Ave.
Wisconsin Public Service replaced the two power poles, a transformer, and electrical service to the house. The residence was damaged from the wires pulling away from the house and the property owner also incurred a loss by having to hire an electrician to make repairs.

Criminal Damage to Property
December 11, 2011
This fall, someone damaged a farm tractor in the Town of Maine and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the people responsible.
Between September, 2011, and October 27, 2011, someone entered a new farm tractor while it was parked at a farm implement dealer on County Highway WW in the Town of Maine and damaged the steering column and ignition lock. It is not known if the suspect was trying to steal the tractor, or take it for a joy ride. It appears that either a knife or saw was used to cut the steering column trim to access the rear of the ignition switch.

Theft from George W. Mead Wildlife Area
December 05, 2011
There were some items stolen from the George W. Mead Wildlife Area in the Township of Green Valley and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to solve this crime.
Sometime between the evening of Saturday, November 12 and the morning of Monday, November 14, 2011, someone removed a water control device (gear box and rod) for a dike from the Mead Property located on Smokey Hill Road approximately one mile south of Quail Lane on the west side of the roadway, near the North Rice Lake Parking Lot. The thief cut the threaded rod near the bottom or at the top of the cover and then pulled the gear box and remaining threaded rod out of its frame. The gear box & rod were valued at approximately $1000. Lights were also stolen off a bulldozer while at the Mead Property.
It is possible the gearbox and rod were stolen with the intent to turn them in as scrap metal for the scrap value due to its weight and construction.
