Marathon County Crime Stoppers and City of Wausau Police Department are asking for your help identifying persons responsible for a theft from the Marshfield Clinic on December 14, 2022.
At 9:52 AM two white males had entered the Optical center of the Marshfield clinic and began asking questions of the staff and did not have appointments. The males then walked around the high end frames and removed at least 6 frames from the shelves and placed them in their pockets then left without paying for the frames.
The males were described as:
Male 1: White male, crew cut style red-ish colored hair, black jacket, black shirt, light/white colored shoes, mask over face.
Male 2: White male, black jacket, white colored button up shirt, blue jeans, black shoes.
Items Stolen:
2 pair of Nike frames: $225/ea ($500 total)
2 pairs of Tommy Hilfiger frames $166/ea ($332 total)
1 pair of Under Armour frames $175/ea

On March 25, 2023, at approximately 9:03 PM an unknown female went to local retail store at the 22600 block of Rib Mountain Drivein the Township of Rib Mountain where $328 worth of merchandise was stolen.
We are asking for help identifying the female in the attached photo to further investigate the retail theft. She was described as a white female with dyed orange-ish blonde hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a white jacket, pink shirt, blue jeans with rips in the legs, tan Ugg-style boots, and carrying a large black purse with a red cherry hanging off the strap of the purse at the time of the incident.

On January 26, 2023, in the Town of Rib Mountain a female was at TJ Maxx when she was asked by a customer to help her reach something on a shelf. While she did this someone else stole her wallet from her purse. A credit card from the wallet was then used at Sam’s Club to purchase $3,000.00 in gift cards.

On November 1, 2022, an unknown black male wearing a blue jacket, khaki pants, black shoes and a pink colored button-down shirt entered a jewelry store in the Town of Rib Mountain and uses a credit card that had been created with a stolen credit card number. The male purchased a 14k white gold tennis diamond bracelet and a pair of 14k white gold stud diamond earrings at a total cost of $6,498.00.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your identifying a person responsible for stealing a KZ Sportsmen SE Travel Trailer from Kings Campers in the Town of Rib Mountain.
On November 21, 2022, at 11:17 PM an unknown person and his dog entered the Kings Campers parking lot in a dark blue 2002-2006 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab pickup truck with silver-colored wheels, except for the left front which was black and appeared to be a full-size spare. The human white male suspect wore a tan jacket and blue jeans and removed an information stand from in front of the travel trailer and placed it in the bed of his truck, then backed the truck up to the travel trailer and attached it to his truck then left with the travel trailer in an unknown direction. The retail value fo the travel trailer was $47,885.90.

On September 6, 2022, at 11:30 PM an unknown male who appeared to be in his 40’s attempted to gain entry to a communication building on Rib Mountain State Park. A second unknown person drove what appeared to be a 2000’s model white Dodge pickup truck with an extended cab to the building as well. The truck appears to have a front guard on it with a light bar between the headlamps.
Between September 9, 2022, at 8:00 PM and September 10, 2022, at 8:00 AM an unknown person entered a locked maintenance building on Rib Mountain State Park and stole ten power tools (mostly Dewalt brand) with an estimated total loss at $1,680.00.

On April 14th, 2022, a complainant reported damage to his vehicle while in the Walmart parking lot. Surveillance footage showed a white male leaving Walmart pushing a cart. The male proceeded to ram the cart into the rear of the complainant’s vehicle two times, causing damage to the rear bumper. There was a white female holding a child with the male suspect. The suspect was observed leaving in a silver minivan, unknown make, or model.

Between Saturday, May 7, 2022 and Sunday, May 8, 2022 unknown person(s) created approximately $481.00 in damage at Machmueller Park with black spray paint inside the bathrooms and more damage at the Kellyland Park and Dog park with red spray paint on a building and a playground slide. Many of words and images painted were vulgar, which is common in these types of crimes.
There was also red paint vandalism found on a street sign at the corner of Heather Street and Rogan Lane and to the decorative rock at River Trail Park.

On May 2, 2022 about 5:40pm there was a white male at the Cedar Creek Cinema in Rothschild who sat next to two 11 year old females partway during a movie. The male tried convincing them to go to another movie with him and told the girls he was a staff member. He also offered to buy them snacks and a movie ticket for another movie. The male asked the girls if they wanted to go to a nail salon nearby and offered to take them there and pay for it.
The male made the girls feel uncomfortable so they went and told a staff member. The male was then escorted off the property and left in a light gold or silver mini-van. The male is described as being in his mid 30’s, 5’10” to 5’11” tall, 185-190lbs, very short cut dark hair, dark eyes and little to no facial hair. The male was wearing a gray parka type jacket and blue jeans.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find those responsible for and to inform the public of a local scam.
During the week of May 5th, 2022, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office took three reports of a scam targeting elderly residents throughout the county. During this scam, the victim receives a phone call where someone claiming to be a police officer claims their grandchild was involved in a crash and bail money is needed. A second person posing as an attorney for their grandchild gets on the phone and gives more information and requests bond money. A third person claiming to be their grandchild then gets on the phone as well. The scammers know the names of the grandchild and their victim. A person then showed up to the victim’s home and collected money then the victim is contacted again later asking for more money.
Total loss from the three victims that have reported this scam was approximately $84,000.00.
One suspect was located and arrested in relation to this case, but we are looking to identify others involved.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person responsible for a gas skip at a business in the Town of Wausau.
On April 8, 2022, at approximately 7:42 a.m. an unidentified driver operating a greenish/grey van which appears to be Ford Windstar with no identifiable registration plates, pumped approximately $70 worth of fuel from a gas station located on County Rd Z. The driver of the vehicle made no attempt to pay for the gas, and the vehicle was recognized by store staff from a previous gas skip at that location. This vehicle was also involved in additional gas skips in Stevens Point WI.
