Sometime between Monday, February 14 and Thursday, February 17, 2022, someone damaged two vehicles parked at a business located on County Road M. A 2016 Ford F150 and a 2007 Honda Ridgeline both had the gas tanks punctured. It appeared that someone laid down on the ground to get underneath the trucks to puncture multiple holes in each of the gas tanks, most likely to steal the fuel.
The cost to replace each tank is estimated at about $750 for a total loss of about $1500 plus all the fuel that was in each truck.

Sometime in the last few weeks a 24’-30’ aluminum Float Master dock was stolen from 204243 Chickadee Lane. The dock was silver in color with black solid plastic wheels. The dock could be broken down into sections of 12’. The boat landing where the dock was kept is privately owned by Consolidated Water Power Company but they allowed public use of the boat landing and dock to access Lake Du Bay. The estimated cost to replace the dock is $5000.

On January 27, 2022 it was reported that several coin boxes were drilled into and damaged at Eastside Laundry/Suds N’ Duds. The thieves made off with less than $10 in change but caused several hundred dollars in damage. The suspects are two white males with an average height and build in their 20’s or 30’s.

On Monday, December 13, 2021 about 6:00pm, a male left Wal-Mart without paying for almost $800 worth of merchandise. Some of the merchandise taken includes 2 Kitchen Aid Mixers, LED lights, a trail camera, Bluetooth headphones and a TV mount kit. The male suspect was seen exiting a red four-door Chevy sedan at Wal-Mart.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person broke into a bar in the Town of Cassel.
Around 6:10 AM on November 5, 2021, a male, wearing a light colored jacket, a hoodie, along with possibly dark color sweat pants light colored sock, and hiking boots broke into a bar on County Road N. The male forced open a window in the back of the bar and took over $3,000.00 from the bar. Video surveillance showed the male putting the money in a fanny pack underneath the front of the person’s jacket. A witness saw a dark gray or black, either Chevrolet Malibu or Pontiac G6 parked near the bar around the time frame of the burglary.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person who was in possession of a stolen debit card which was used to get cash and make a purchase. In doing such, the suspects committed Identity Theft.
On or about May 7, 2021, a debit card was stolen out of a mailbox on Ravine Road in the Town of Wausau. On May 7, 2021, the debit card was used to get cash from an ATM at a Kwik Trip in Wausau and at Wal-Mart in Rib Mountain, the card was then used to purchase items at the Rib Mountain Wal-Mart.
Surveillance video was reviewed from both Kwik Trip and Wal-Mart. At Kwik Trip, a female exited a white four-door car and used the ATM. The female had her hair pulled back into a pony tail. The pony tail was noticeably a lighter color than the rest of her hair. At Wal-Mart, the same female was involved in the transaction along with a female with long curly hair.

On Thursday, June 10 about 1:20am on Fairway Drive there was an attempted entry into a house listed “For Sale” but the suspect was scared off by the resident who was home and heard him rattling the door handle.
About 3:16am, there was forced entry through a door of the clubhouse at Indianhead Golf Course. Three gaming machines were damaged and pried open and money was stolen from them.
Between 3:30am and 3:40am, there were thefts from vehicles parked in the driveways of two residences located on Fairway Drive. A laptop computer was taken as well as a .22 Browning Buckmark handgun (see picture). The suspect can be seen on video surveillance at one of the residences.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the individuals responsible for burglaries in the Township of Plover.
Between May 4th and May 7th, 2021 unknown persons entered two properties adjacent to each other located on Eau Claire River Rd south of STH 52. Suspects removed 10 long guns ranging in calibers from a .22 long rifle, .20gauges, .12 gauges, .30-30, .243 and a .308. One of the firearms is a restored .30-30 Steven Bolt Rifle, which has sentimental value to the owner. The weapons were in new to used condition with a value of about $2500.
Also removed from the property were three compound bows: a Matthews, a Hoyt and a Bowtech. The missing Matthews bow was a left-handed with snow and winter camo. The bows were valued at approximately $1000.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking information pertaining to the parties involved with the break-ins and the distribution of the stolen property. Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person(s) involved with a burglary at a residence in the Village of Maine.
Sometime between August 18 and October 21, 2020 an unknown person or persons burglarized a residence on Decator Drive. The suspect(s) pried open a gun locker and stole 3 firearms, a Whitetails Unlimited hunting knife, about $3000 worth of pistol ammo, and an uncut sheet of US $1.00 bills.
The first firearm is described as a stainless steel .44 mag Ruger Super Redhawk with rubber grips and wood grip inlays. The second firearms is a Luger Super Lightweight 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun with Whitetails Unlimited symbol embossed on the receiver. The third firearm is a Marlin .22 long rifle with a synthetic camouflaged stock.

Sometime between the months of June and July 2020, a 1926 Ford Model T was stolen from a barn on County Hwy O. The Model T was parked inside the barn on the second story. Thieves cut a hole into the second story of the barn to remove the antique car. A large piece of equipment would have been utilized to remove the car from the second story. The vehicle shown is a similar vehicle as the one taken. The Model T had sentimental value to the family it was stolen from which you can’t put a price on.

There have been several incidents of graffiti reported since January 2020. The first incident was located on 01/22/2020 on a display case sign located next to the walking trail in River Street Park located at 518 Williams Street.
On 03/31/2020, graffiti was located on the southeast corner of the Shopko property located at 1105 E. Grand Avenue. There were three places that were spray painted in the colors of blue and red.
On 03/31/2020, graffiti was located again at River Street Park. The pump house, the walking bridge and a garbage can were all spray painted.
On 05/06/2020, graffiti was located on all three bridges along the walking path near Cedar Creek which are the large covered bridge behind Stoney Creek Inn, underneath the US 51 bridge and on the smaller bridge west of US 51. There was also an area on the smaller bridge where several knee wall boards appeared to have been forced out and were laying loose on the ground.
On 05/20/2020, graffiti was located on the bike path covered bridge on the west side of BR US 51 under the railroad trestle. There was previous damage to the boards on the south side of the bridge which were kicked out (which were recently fixed) and now there was damage to the north side boards.

On Wednesday, March 4, 2020 about 5:15pm, a male suspect fled Wal-Mart with concealed merchandise when confronted by a loss prevention employee. The male left on a red and black bicycle. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30’s, approximately 6’2” tall and a skinny build. The male’s pockets were full of merchandise including a knife when he fled.

On Saturday, 01/25/2020, between midnight and 2:20am, a wallet was stolen from a purse while the victim was at Night School bar located at 320 Ross Ave. At some point during the evening, someone removed a hot pink wallet containing cash, insurance cards, DL, and various gift cards from the purse.
Officers reviewed the video from the establishment and are attempting to identify two black females and one black male who were seen seated or near the victims table.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify two people who passed counterfeit $100 bills at a local business.
On November 5, 2019, a local grocer on Fulton Street in Wausau had two incidents of counterfeit $100 bills being passed to them. In the first incident which happened at about 1:50 PM, an Asian female purchased a small amount of groceries and paid with a fake $100 bill. This female received over $80 in change from a grocery store employee.
In the second incident which occurred at about 5:30 PM, a male wearing a black jacket with white sleeves, a letter “G” in the left chest area and the numbers “81” on the left sleeve attempted to purchase grocery’s with a fake $100 bill. The store employee told the male this bill was a counterfeit bill and the bill was confiscated and the police were called. It’s unknown if these two incidents are related.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is looking for your help in identifying an accomplice of an already identified male party who was involved in a rash of thefts and arsons in the southwestern part of Marathon County beginning in October of 2019.
The thefts in October included a Polaris 400cc ATV which has been recovered and returned to the owner.
In the second week of November a white 2008 Ford F-350 regular cab with a 6.4 diesel motor was stolen from a business near Marshfield. This vehicle has not yet been recovered.
Later in November a 1997 Chevy Lumina was stolen from a residence in the Town of McMillan. The individuals responsible for the theft set the car on fire.
During the middle of December a residence in the Town of Eau Pleine was burglarized and a truck taken among other items. The truck was recovered along with most of the other stolen items.
At the end of December 2019, a Skid Steer was stolen from a business near Stratford. The machine was driven into a deep ditch and the person or people responsible set it on fire when it became stuck.
We are also hoping to identify the owner of a red Massey Ferguson MF 1230H compact tractor with hydraulic bucket, which we believe was stolen and is being held in safe keeping by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who vandalized a vehicle in the Township of Rib Mountain.
On Sunday, December 15, 2019 about 4:22am a person wearing all black clothing with a large backpack entered the east lot of Slumberland Furniture located at 226303 Rib Mountain Drive. The subject was seen walking toward the side of the truck where the spray paint was observed and disappeared for a short time. It appeared the suspect may have been interrupted when a vehicle entered the lot and drove toward the truck. The suspect can then be seen walking away from the business southbound on Wood Duck Lane. The damage to the truck was about $1000.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify three suspects using cloned credit cards to steal money in Wausau, Weston and Abbotsford.
During November 2-5, 2019, there were two males and a female who used cloned credit cards to steal a total of $14,000 from ATM machines at three Abby Bank locations (Wausau, Weston and Abbotsford). Video surveillance revealed the three suspects along with a white Chevy Impala. A white male suspect wearing a maroon “OBEY MFG” hoodie was operating the Impala. The white female suspect, shorter is stature, had blonde hair sticking out of the hood of her black Columbia jacket. The other male had a darker skin complexion and was wearing a green camouflaged winter jacket.

Sometime between 10pm 11/09/19 and 1am 11/10/19 a wallet was misplaced in the lounge of a hotel in Rib Mountain. Between 1:00am and 2:10am, there were several large purchases made at Wal-Mart in excess of $1300 using the stolen credit cards from the lost wallet. There appeared to be two males and one female involved. One of the males has been identified. The male and female in the surveillance pictures still need to be identified.

On the morning of Saturday, November 2, 2019 it was reported that a vehicle parked overnight in the 2400 block of Weston Ave was broken into and a large black purse was stolen. Inside the purse was an apple watch, a light blue wallet and cash.
On November 2, 2019 at 12:21am a male suspect purchased items at Kwik Trip on Schofield Ave in the Village of Weston using the debit card located in the stolen purse. The suspect is a white male with a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was wearing a blue and gray plaid shirt, jeans, and a Milwaukee Brewers baseball cap.

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify a female who attempted to pass a counterfeit check in the City of Wausau.
On Friday, August 30, 2019 a female tried to pass a counterfeit payroll check in the name of K4 Construction at a Credit Union drive-thru in Wausau. The teller noticed the check looked different than normal and asked the people in the car security questions for the member’s account, which they could not answer and proceeded to drive off. The female driving was described as having blonde hair, in her thirties, wearing a pink bandana, a baseball cap and sunglasses. The male in the passenger seat had a ball cap on and looked bald.
