Armed Robbery to a Wausau Business
October 06, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find an armed robbery suspect.

 

On Thursday, September 7, 2017, about 10:00 pm, a lone male entered the Family Dollar located at 2205 Grand Ave in the City of Wausau. The male displayed a black handgun and demanded money from two employees who were preparing to close the store for the day.

 

The male is described as being approximately 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was dressed in all dark clothing described as a black hooded sweat shirt, a green bandana with some black coloring over his face and blue rubber gloves. Fortunately there were no customers in the store and no employees were hurt. The robber fled on foot and has not been located.

Burglary to a Business in Rothschild
October 01, 2017


Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for information on who unlawfully entered a business in the 10000 block of Tesch Lane in the Village of Rothschild and stole money.

 

At around 1:20 AM on September 9, 2017, a man entered a floral business and forced his way into an office and stole more than $1,000.00.  The individual was wearing dark pants, a dark hooded sweatshirt, and a lighter colored shirt which stuck out from underneath his sweatshirt.  The person was captured on video appeared to be familiar with the business.

Help Identify a Possible Child Predator
September 22, 2017

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect who attended the 2017 Motorama Antique Military Vehicle Show in Aniwa, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 12th.  The suspect is described as a white male with a “buzz cut” and receding hairline.  He is about 5’8’’-5’10’’ and about 180-190 pounds.  He did not have facial hair and had light brown eyes.  He was described as having chipped front teeth and a possible hearing loss. 

 

The man smoked Marlboro cigarettes, consumed energy drinks, and wore dark Adidas running pants and a military green colored t-shirt.  The shirt was adorned with the Jeep logo inverted so as to read “Beer”.   The man bragged about owning a Ferrari and a car dealership in Rockford, Illinois; however this has not been confirmed.  

 

We are asking anyone with photos of the event to examine them, as they may have inadvertently captured his image.

Robbery and Assault to Victim
September 17, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for information on who broke into a car; stole property, and assaulted the owner of the car in Town of Norrie

 

Between 3:00 and 3:30 AM on September 11, 2017, a female victim related she was awoken by someone trying to break into her car in the 4300 block of Hilltop Road.  The victim confronted a suspect who was wearing blue jeans and a black sweatshirt.  The suspect broke a door window on the victim’s car and stole victim’s purse which included her prescription medications, an ID card, and a cell phone.  The victim suffered a minor injuries in the attack.

Residential Fire and Fireworks/Game Camera Theft
September 08, 2017

 

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for any information you may have regarding a residential fire and theft of property at an address in the Town of Easton.

 

On Saturday, August 26, 2017 at about 8:15 am, several Fire Department and Law Enforcement personnel responded to a residential fire on East Tower Rd. During the investigation of the fire, it was discovered there were several boxes of commercial fireworks stolen as well as several game cameras.

 

No one was home at the time of the fire and it was reported by a passerby. The home was not insured and is a total loss.

Theft from Construction Site
September 03, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for information on who stole tools from a construction site in the Town of Rib Mountain.

 

During the night of August 26, 2017 in to the morning of August 27, 2017, someone entered a construction site in the 2100 block of North Mountain Road in Rib Mountain and stole approximately $2,100.00 worth of tools.  Various Ryobi 18 volt tools to include the charger, battery, a ¼” impact driver, radio, and a flashlight were stolen.  Also stolen was a Stihl 600 Magnum backpack blower, a Milwaukee M-12 battery and charger, a Makita 4” grinder, a Makita chipping hammer, and a DeWalt laser in a black case.

Criminal Damage to a Residence

Theft of Tools from a Vehicle

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for information on who broke into a van and stole tools in the Town of Texas.

 

During the weekend of July 14th through July 18th, 2017, someone entered a van and stole an assortment of Milwaukee brand tools.  Missing is a battery operated drills, a corded reciprocating saw, a cordless LED light, and a tool bag containing assorted drill bits.  The victims reported loss is about $725 and will affect the victim’s livelihood.

Burglary to a Residence
August 06, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to determine who forcibly broke into a house in the Town of Stettin.

 

During the night of July 27, 2017, someone broke into a house in the 800 block of Bristers Hill Road in the Town of Stettin and stole both tools and a home theater system.  The theater system was a black Sonos Bluetooth Home Stereo system.  The tools included a Milwaukee Tools Jobsite radio, a Milwaukee Tools cordless impact driver, a Dremmel Multi-Max saw, along with other smaller property.  All told, the victims suffered over a $2,500 loss.

Criminal Damage to TERX Shredding and Recycling

Theft from King's Campers in Rib Mountain
July 21, 2017

Burglary to Sprint PCS Store in Wausau
July 14, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the suspects involved in the burglary of a business in the City of Wausau.

 

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, about 2:00am, the glass front door of the Sprint PCS store was smashed by two suspects who then entered the store. After being in the store for about 2 minutes, the thieves left with about 57 items such as IPads, IPhones, HTC cell phones, LG cell phones, Pocket Wi-Fi’s, Slate tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tablets, and Samsung Galaxy cell phones. The total loss is estimated at approximately $35,000.

Theft of a Generator

Theft of Copper

Theft of Mini-Bike
June 25, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who went into a garage and stole a motorized mini-bike.

 

In the fall of 2016, a red Honda CRF-50 mini-bike was put in a garage at a house for storage for the winter in the 2100 block of Circle Drive in the Village of Maine.  When the owner of the mini-bike went to get the mini-bike out of storage for the summer, he discovered someone stole the mini-bike out of the garage.  The mini-bike is red and has Red Bull graphics on it.  There is also a scuff on the right rear side near the exhaust.

Burglaries in Eastern Marathon County and Recovered Property
June 15, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your vigilance to help put a stop to the daytime residential burglaries occurring in eastern Marathon County.

 

On Thursday, June 8, 2017 between the hours of 5:30am and 3:30pm, a pole barn on Willow Ln in the Township of Norrie was forcibly entered and several items were stolen which include: a Husqvarna chain saw, a 6hp blue with white top Evinrude boat motor, an impact wrench, a torch set with 2 tanks a cart an solder kit, and a power washer 3600 PSI. The total loss is estimated at $2250.

 

Investigators have developed information indicating that multiple suspects are responsible for the break ins. Two arrests have been made but several firearms are still unaccounted for. To date, investigators have recovered suspected stolen property and are trying to identify the rightful owners. Residents are encouraged to inspect their property for any signs of foul play.

Burglary to a Garage

Ongoing Vandalism in the Town of Green Valley
June 02, 2017

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who continues to cause damage to property in the Town of Green Valley.

 

Dating as far back as June of 2012 and continuing sporadically in 2013, 2014, and again in 2017, someone has dumped nails and screws on Eau Pleine Dr and Acorn Dr causing flat tires to numerous vehicles, drilled holes in Grader tires, driven rebar into a hayfield to intentionally cause damage to machinery, driven screws into logs damaging sawmill blades, drilled holes into the tires of a Log Skidder, slashed a trailer tire and intentionally drained the battery on a log skidder.  The total loss is over $15,000.

Vandalism to a Skid Steer
