Thefts from Vehicles and Theft of Utility Trailer
February 17, 2019

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify the person(s) involved in breaking into vehicles and also stealing a utility trailer in the Village of Rothschild.

 

There have been a series of thefts of property from vehicles within Rothschild.  During the evening hours of January 10th into the early morning hours of January 11, 2019, someone stole a 2016 Karavan aluminum open utility trailer which had aluminum sides and a ramp on it.  The ramp was modified to be a short length.  The left side trailer lights and the yellow side marker light on the left fender didn’t work.  The trailer had been parked in the 1100 block of East Grand Avenue.

 

On January 18, 2019, an individual came home and parked his vehicle next to his house in the 400 block of Palm Street.  The owner of the vehicle came out of his residence and discovered a male wearing a multi-colored shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes was in the victim’s car.  The victim chased the suspect and caught up to him, but after a brief struggle, the suspect got away.  The victim report he had cigarettes and money stolen from his vehicle.  This incident was reported to the police around 9:00 PM.

 

In another incident at about 10:55 PM on January 18, 2019 in the 200 block of Greenwood Drive in Rothschild, the victim parked her car in her garage and left the garage door open for about 30 minutes, waiting for other residents of the house to come home.  The victim heard a noise in the garage and when she opened a door leading into the garage, she discovered someone entered her car.  The victim had a black puffy winter vest with a fur neck lining stolen along with her bright red wallet purse.

Theft of Ice Shack and Fishing Equipment
February 06, 2019

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person(s) who stole an ice shanty from the Eau Pleine Reservoir in the Town of Green Valley.

 

Sometime between Friday, January 4, 2019 and Wednesday, January 9, 2019 someone removed a green 10x12 foot steel ice shack built on a 10x16 foot trailer. The ice shack contained a red 450 watt generator, a Lowrance GPS/Fish Locator, a Marcum Flasher Fish Locator, a Vexilar Flasher Fish Locator, a K-drill ice auger, Nikon 10x50 binoculars and several other ice fishing items.

 

The owner of the ice shack was approached by four white males in their 20’s that were on a red Honda three wheeler and a white snowmobile. The males told him he parked his shack on their spot. They had a disagreement about what part of the lake he could fish on and the males left.

Theft of Firearm Suppressor

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify the person who stole a firearm suppressor in Rothschild.

 

On January 25, 2019 between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM someone stole a Hornet .22 caliber sound suppressor at the Wausau/Rothschild Gun Show from a vendors display area.  Anyone who is in possession of a firearm sound suppressor is also committing a crime unless the person has complied with the licensing and registration requirements under 26 USC 5801 to 5872.

Theft of Sign From Big Eau Pleine Park
January 25, 2019

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who stole a sign from Big Eau Pleine County Park in the Town of Green Valley.

 

Sometime between the evening of Saturday, September 29, 2018 and early morning hours of Sunday, September 30, 2018, someone cut and took a routed and hand painted “Pickerel Bay” wooden sign from two wood posts which were supporting it. The sign is 24 inches high, 42 inches wide and 1 ½ inches thick. The sign is valued at $510, taking into consideration the time and materials to make it.  This is the second time this sign has been made and stolen. The sign was also stolen in September of 2017.

Stolen Aluminum Trailer
January 18, 2019

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find a trailer that was stolen from the Town of Rib Mountain.

 

Sometime between 7:00pm Sunday, September 30, 2018 and 10:30am Monday, October 1, 2018 someone entered private property on Aster Road and removed a 2006 Aluma Ltd. all aluminum trailer with a tandem axle. The rear ramp of the trailer is a bi-fold type ramp. It has alloy wheels with aluminum fenders over the wheels and is a low boy type trailer. The trailer has an A-frame type tongue. The dimensions of the trailer are approximately 5 feet wide by 14 feet long. The loss is estimated at $3500.

Hit and Run

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who hit a parked vehicle and left the scene in the City of Schofield.

 

On Sunday 12/30/18 about 5:00pm, a Dodge Magnum was parked on the side of Moreland Ave in front of the vehicle owners home.  A vehicle struck the back of the Dodge and left the scene. A witness described the striking vehicle as being a dark green boxy type Jeep. There were some vehicle parts left at the scene.

Theft from Vehicle
December 14, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the person who stole items from a vehicle in the Township of Guenther.

 

On Thursday, November 29, 2018 between 1:10pm and 4:15pm, a white Ford truck was parked at the intersection of Ledebuhr Rd and County Forest 505 Road while the owner went hunting.  The vehicle was locked and someone broke into it and stole a Barnett Whitetail Hunter Crossbow, a Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine Rifle, and bolt cutters. The year of the rifle was 1945 and it was in a hard gray rifle case. The rifle was a light colored wood with a foldable bayonet on the barrel. The crossbow was camo with an optic which came standard with the Barnett Whitetail Hunter. The loss is estimated at $850.

Suspicious Person entering Restaurant
December 09, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to identify a suspicious person who entered a business in the City of Wausau.

 

At about 8:15 PM on November 8th, 2018, three people were walking east on the north side of Forest Street by 5th Street.  Two of the people went into a parking on the southeast side of the roadway side of the intersection.  One person who was wearing red pants and a black top stopped in the middle of the parking lot.  The other male, described as an approximately 15-16 year old Asian male, about 5’5” to 5’6” tall, wearing blue jeans, white and black shoes, and a white and black plaid hooded sweatshirt put on blue bandana covering his mouth and nose and entered a restaurant but didn’t order anything.  A witness stated this second male had a silver pistol in his right hand but a clerk didn’t see the gun.  The male went up to a counter but didn’t say anything and then left the restaurant, walking east away from the area.

Downtown Wausau Burglar
November 30, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the person responsible for several break-ins to businesses in downtown Wausau.  

 

Between the evening of Sunday, November 11, 2018 and morning of Wednesday, November 14, 2018 two businesses in Washington Square and two businesses on North 3rd Street were burglarized.  The burglar pried and forced open doors to gain entry. Once inside he ransacked offices, stole money and other items from the businesses, and damaged property. The suspect is a white male.

Theft from Construction Site
November 25, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is trying to learn who stole some tools from a construction site in the Town of Rib Mountain.

 

Between 6:00 PM on November 13, 2018 and 7:00 AM on November 14, 2018, someone entered a construction site in the 1500 block of South Mountain Road.  The thieves stole a 10’ ladder, a DeWalt 12” dual bevel miter saw, a Milwaukee impact driver, a Partner model K700 concreate saw, in addition to other items.  In all, the victim sustained an approximant $1,500.00 loss.

Burglaries to a Business in the Town of Mosinee
November 16, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the people responsible for burglaries in the Township of Mosinee.

 

On Friday, October 26, 2018 about 2:20am a business on STH 107 in the Town of Mosinee was burglarized. Two males were captured on surveillance video entering the business without permission and stole numerous hand tools and a credit card. Some of the items taken include a Fluke multimeter, shock absorbers, a Pittsburg socket set in a black case, a Milwaukee right angle impact driver/drill, and a Milwaukee cable cutter/sawzall. Several older tools were also stolen such as a Snap-On air hammer and bolt puller tools.

 

On Monday, October 29, 2018 about 12:15am one of the males reentered the business.

On Tuesday, October 30, 2018 about 11:30pm, two vehicles entered the business parking lot. One vehicle was a newer Dodge single cab pickup truck with a long box and the second vehicle was an early 2000’s Ford pickup truck. Two male subjects were seen attempting to gain access to locked doors at the business.

Two Incidents in the Town of Bern

Theft of Snap On Tool Boxes
November 02, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the people responsible for a theft in the Township of Rib Mountain.

 

On Friday, October 12, 2018 about 2:11am a white truck, possibly an Mitsubishi Fuso flat nose truck with a flatbed on it drove onto the victim’s property without lights. The vehicle backed up to a storage trailer and removed two Snap On toolboxes. The toolboxes are a high gloss black Snap On roll cab toolbox with dimensions of 54 ¼ inches wide by 39 7/8 inches high by 24 inches deep. The toolboxes weighed about 564 pounds each and were still brand new in the package. The loss is $13,550.  A second Snap On toolbox weighing about 100 pounds and worth $850 was also taken.

 

One of the thieves appears to be a male. He was wearing a stocking cap with a hooded sweatshirt, pants, and gloves of some sort and appeared to have a stocky or full build.

Roofing Scam
October 23, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers wants the community to be aware of a scam that occurred in the Township of Rib Mountain in September.

 

On September 14, 2018 a male knocked on the door to a residence occupied by an elderly man and acted as if he knew him. The male told the homeowner his roof was visibly in need of repair and talked him into letting him fix his roof and signed a simple one-sheet contract to repair the leaky roof. The home owner eventually agreed to pay the male $11,000 to do the work.  The male went on the roof and about a half hour later, the male came back and said he had sprayed something on the roof.

 

The name on the contract was FLAWLESS (Masonry, Paving, Sealing). The male was driving a black four door Chevy Silverado with “FLAWLESS” on the back passenger door. He identified himself as Joseph Stevens when he cashed the victims check for the work. This male appears to be part of a criminal gypsie/traveler group which targets the elderly 97% of the time.

Hit and Run
October 19, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash in the City of Schofield.  

 

On Sunday, September 16, 2018 about 12:14am an older model gray or blue Dodge Durango struck a parked vehicle while exiting a business on Grand Ave in the City of Schofield. The vehicle went southbound on Grand Ave. The driver of the vehicle was described as being a white male approximately 30 years old, about 5’9” – 5’10” tall with dark eyes and dark hair that was shaved on the sides with a tiny ponytail. The male also had a full beard and many tattoos, including a triangle on his right hand. The crash was captured on surveillance video as well as the male suspect leaving the business.

Possible Cloned Credit Card Suspect- SUSPECT IDENTIFIED

STATUS: SOLVED

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is attempting to locate a person who is believed to have cloned a credit card and used it multiple times in the Wausau area.

 

On October 5, 2018, the victim of this crime contacted law enforcement relating their credit card number had been used in various places in the Wausau area.  The victim told the officers their credit card never left their possession.  The credit card was used at the Wausau Wal-Mart on October 4th, 2018 in the early morning hours and at Harbor Freight Tools, Weston Family Dollar, Weston Good Will, Kwik Trip at 6th Street and East Wausau Avenue, and an Exxon-Mobil gas Station on October 5th, 2018. 

 

The suspect is a white male believed to be between 5’10” and 6’ tall weighing around 190 pounds.  He has multiple tattoos on his right forearm which are believed to be a grenade or microphone.

Illegal Dumping in Wausau

The white male suspect was captured on video going behind the shop and back to the dumpsters in a dark colored SUV possibly a Kia Sorento.

Theft of FedEx Package
September 28, 2018

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the thief who stole a package from outside a residence in the Township of Norrie.

 

On Tuesday, September 11th between 12:43pm and 1:45pm, a package was delivered to a residence on Falstad Road by FedEx. The home owner was gone when the package was delivered to the front door of the residence and someone took the package prior to the home owner arriving back at the residence a short time later.

 

The item stolen was an 8 inch 6.5 amp telescoping electric pole chainsaw made by Sun Joe.

Stolen Motorcycle
September 21, 2018

 

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to find the thief who stole a motorcycle in the Village of Weston.

 

Sometime between 10:30pm Friday, August 17th and 6:10pm Saturday, August 18th a motorcycle was stolen from the parking lot on the north side of the apartment building located at 3612 Sternberg Ave in Weston.

 

The motorcycle is described as a blue, 2003 Suzuki GSXR 750 with white accents. There was a chain link fence on the property that had been pushed over and drag marks in the grass leading from the parking lot through the lawn of a residence on Aspen St. The loss is estimated at $2750.

Wanted Felon

STATUS: CAPTURED

 

 

Marathon County Crime Stoppers is attempting to locate a Wanted Felon.

 

Marathon County law enforcement officials are attempting to find Akeem Damarous Lamar Coleman.  There are four different arrest warrants issued for him which include charges of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Carrying a Hand Gun where Alcohol is sold and consumed, Strangulation and Suffocation, OWI Causing Injury, Battery, and a host of other charges. 

 

Coleman is 5’8” tall, weighs about 165 pounds, and has black hair and brown hair.  He has had his hair both cut short or at other times in dreads.  Coleman has a 3” scar on his right forearm, a tattoo of an Arkansas map on his left arm, and a tattoo of a name on his neck.

 

As noted, Coleman is known to carry concealed weapons and is considered a dangerous person.  Photographs can be viewed at www.marathoncountycrimestoppers.org.  The photographs are from 2011 and 2012 and his appearance may have changed.
